A phone call to Voice of the Copts from Cairo this evening indicates that unidentified numbers of barbaric Arabs are attacking Copts in various towns, among them the city of Kena in Upper Egypt.
The towns involved in this attack are Farshoot, Al Shakiki and Al Kom Al Amar. The attacks are led by students of the local Islamic institute, Al Azhary, along with a great number of local canaille and others. They assaulted Coptic residences, Coptic owned businesses and pharmacies. One of the assaulted pharmacies is owned by Dr. Lateef Al Masrany, another one is owned by Dr. Sohera.
The attack is going on up to the time of this writing, and as our correspondent indicated, the local law enforcement are observing without intervening.
Rumors indicated that the assaults took place after someone indicated that a Coptic young man with the name Gerges Baromy assaulted a nine year old Muslim girl. In spite of the fact that the local police arrested the lawbreaker, the principal of Al azhary Institute along with others from his staff, instigated the students to go out in defense of Islam honor.
