In another battle to obtain justice by the 25-year old female Coptic lawyer against the Muslim Brotherhood infested police, lawyers and judges in Abu-Korkas,Upper Egypt, Lawyer Mervet Ragy was handed an unfair 6 months prison sentence and a bail of £3000. She was charged with insulting the prosecutor during her court case by saying "I will complain to the Attorney General” for being treated unfairly.

Gamal Mubarak, Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Party (NDP) Policies Committee, has met with a limited number of US political leaders, intellectuals and researchers in Washington amid "tightened media blackout" on the activities of the meeting, which was described by a source close to the Egyptian diplomats in Washington as a meeting introducing NDP to the US.

CAIRO: The Egyptian Orthodox Church recently agreed to join a campaign launched by members of the Coptic Diaspora requesting the government to approve the building of places of worship, an urgent plea that came after the collapse of a church last month. On Feb. 21, 2009 a church in the governorate of Sohag collapsed causing the downfall of four other neighboring houses.

SHARM EL-SHEIKH: Hamas will not receive any of the American aid earmarked for the reconstruction of Gaza and the Palestinian Authority, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Monday at the Gaza donors' conference. Speaking at the second session of the conference alongside other foreign ministers and Quartet Middle East Envoy Tony Blair, Clinton, as well as almost every other delegation representative attending made it abundantly clear that the funds pledged at the conference would solely go through the Palestinian Authority.
