One Gaza terrorist has been killed, and 4 others wounded, in an accidental blast in the Tal al-Hawa neighborhood of Gaza City, according to Ma'an news agency.
Gaza medical sources confirmed to Ma'an that 35-year old Muhammad al-Bahloul died shortly after he was evacuated to Shifa Hospital in Gaza City. Medics added that four other terrorists sustained minor to moderate injuries.
Ma'an also noted hat the explosion was accidental - not the result of an Israeli strike - according to Gaza security forces.
While Ma'an does not provide details about the nature of the explosion, Hamas's website claims that the incident was the result of Jihadist preparations for more terror attacks.
The site stated that al-Bahloul “was martyred after a long bright path of Jihad, hard work, struggle and sacrifice." Hamas also reportedly “reaffirms its commitment and determination to continue the resistance against the belligerent occupation forces.”
Hamas recently made public statements vowing to continue building terror tunnels, and claiming that the relative calm is the "best time" to continue preparing to launch a terror war against Israel.
